At Sunday Nutrition and Dietetics, we understand that health is nuanced and complex, and feel strongly about recognising how social determinants of health impact our clients. Our focus is on providing compassionate weight-neutral care and embracing gentle nutrition practices, steering away from rigid rules and instead emphasising flexibility and enjoyment in eating. In a landscape cluttered with misinformation and pseudoscience, we pride ourselves on offering evidence-based guidance that cuts through the noise and fosters a sense of calm and clarity.... just like Sundays.

MEET YOUR DIETITIAN

Mikah Appel

Hey! I’m Mikah; dietitian and founder of Sunday Nutrition and Dietetics. 

Mikah is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and nutritionist in Bowen, with a Bachelor of Dietetics from University of the Sunshine Coast. ☀️

Mikah works both as a clinical dietitian for the local hospital & health service, and in private practice with clients in the community.

Mikah has a special interest in paediatric feeding and has completed additional training in neurodiversity-affirming nutrition, focusing on using responsive feeding practices to help families create less stressful mealtimes.

 

She is also a Monash FODMAP trained dietitian, and has training in motivational interviewing counselling. 

Mikah is passionate about providing a service which delivers robust evidence-based medical nutrition therapy that clients can trust.
